Color Drenching: Why You Should Try It

Have you heard of this trending topic recently? It’s not anything new. In fact, Mid Century Modern and Spanish Revival have both incorporated some variation of color drenching in their design styles. 

So what is it exactly? Color drenching is selecting paint for walls and ceiling, as well as most decor and furniture, all in the same hue- with a range of tones, shades, and tints. It’s a dramatic way to make a room feel bigger and create a cocoon-like quality to the space too. 

Here are some ways to spice up color drenching:

1. Choose different paint colors for trim, ceilings, and walls, but in the same color family

2. Vary the textures

3. Select a similar wallpaper to the paint color for added interest
